World Mental Health Day

Today is World Mental Health Day! We all have mental health and we need to remember that it’s just as important as our physical health.

1 in 4 will experience a mental health problem each year. If it’s not you, you’re most likely know someone who’s has experienced it.

There should be no shame or stigma in talking about mental health.

‘This is what a person with mental illness looks like’ is a project to raise awareness as well as educate people on mental health and doing this by showing ‘normal’ people who have struggled with mental health coping through every day-to-day life, even though it might be extremely difficult for them to do so.

I want people with mental illness to know, that no matter where they are, they are never alone. As I’ve experienced different types of mental health problems and I’m still living with them, I find that it can be extremely difficult to socialise or sometimes even go out into the world. By knowing that there are people out there who understand and can help it makes me feel a lot less alone in this and I know that I am not the only one who feels like that!

As well as posting other people stories, I am also here to post any helpful links, quotes, stories that have helped me and still are helping me through my journey with mental illness.

Over 150 people have now shared their story on the blog! This blog has helped me so much and it has changed my life! It continues to help sooo many people from all over the world and I am so proud of every single person that has spoken up and shared their story on this platform. 🙂

It is so important to talk about it. Share your story. You matter! & You are not alone!
