Jamie, 18

*** TRIGGER WARNING *** Mentions sexual abuse, suicide and self-harm

“My name is Jamie, I am 18 years old and on my way to university. I have struggled all my life since early childhood. I was put in child protective serves, and in foster care until I was 11. I was diagnosed at 5 with PTSD, ADD, anxiety, and depression. And most recently i have been diagnosed with Depression, Anxiety, OCD, Insomnia, PTSD, and ADD.

When I lost my brother in 2011 I became a lost person. Then, to add to it all, in the summer of 2014 I was raped. I no longer kept trying to fight, I wanted to commit suicide 3 times, and began self injuring. I also began my battle against anorexia.

I am now a year and one month clean of self harm, I have gotten better on different medications and living for my brother. I also discovered art. I show and express my feelings that i cannot talk about in my art. I try and remember on my worst days that this isn’t the life that I wanted when I was 5. So I try and make myself live for my 5 year old self”
